Baz’s subjects for animal and bird carvings are reminiscent of imagery found in Inuit or Native American carving such as shamanistic animal pieces or fetish animals. These are made from soapstone, slate, bone or local serpentine stone from the Lizard peninsula. Sizes vary but those shown here are small (up to 20cm wide).
