Stone carving courses designed for you
Designed for all ages and levels of ability, including absolute beginners, Baz is an experienced tutor ensuring everyone enjoys learning to carve and making work to take home. If you live in Cornwall or are staying in the area you can come for a day or a few days with flexibility on dates. Or you can stay in a delightful cottage next door and attend the stone carving course in our spacious workshop. (Click here to view images.)Outline of a day workshop (10am-4pm)
- Introduction to workshop practice and safety.
- Reference to tutors carving and other work.
- Drawing/copying subject ideas.
- Introduction to stone carving techniques.
- Hands on stonecarving practice on own subject, with a wide variety of stone to choose from.
- Information & practice on finishing a piece.
Weekend and week long courses follow the above outline but in more depth, with opportunity to practice on different materials and work on own carving subjects. There will be free time for own activities in the area.
Prices
Day course price is £70 per person (includes tuition, materials, equipment and tools, and lunch).Week price £550 (5 full days carving)/
Weekend price £300 (2 full days carving)

take home own carvings
Family/Group rate negotiable. Maximum group size is 4. If a family group, parent/s should accompany children in the workshop. Not everyone in the group need attend the carving course (Non-carving rate - £150 per week per person / £75 per weekend per person.
